Special Education Teacher & Substitute Teacher Opportunities
2nd & 3rd Grade Autism Classroom | Rockford, IL
We are actively hiring a Special Education Teacher OR Substitute Teacher to support a 2nd and 3rd Grade Autism Classroom in Rockford, Illinois. If you are passionate about helping students reach their full potential and thrive in a supportive educational environment, we encourage you to apply.

Special Education Teacher: Up to $50/hour, paid weekly

Substitute Teacher: Up to $35/hour, paid weekly
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality educational services to students with special needs. This role requires a strong commitment to collaboration, individualized instruction, and student success.
Responsibilities include:

Delivering specialized instruction to students in an autism classroom setting
-
Supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth
-
Collaborating with administrators, therapists, support staff, and general education teachers
-
Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized student programs
-
Providing consultation and support to educational teams
-
Maintaining compliance with all district, state, and federal requirements
-
Creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
Required Credentials
Special Education Teacher
- Illinois Professional Educator License ( PEL ) with LBS1 Endorsement
OR
Substitute Teacher
- Valid Illinois Substitute Teacher License
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
-
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations
-
Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred
-
Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching Certification preferred
-
Learning Behavior Specialist ( LBS1 ) Endorsement preferred
-
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
-
Compliance with all professional standards of practice
-
Current CPR certification, if applicable
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable
-
Current Health Certificate (per state or district requirements)
-
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
-
Must be at least 18 years of age
