Job Description:

The Field Service Representative (FSR) provides onsite maintenance support for the Skyraider II program. This position is the primary avionics and mission-systems maintenance resource for assigned aircraft, with responsibility for troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and returning mission equipment to service.

The FSR performs work in accordance with approved technical manuals, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, maintenance procedures, and customer requirements. The position works directly with maintenance personnel, aircrew, engineering, supply, and customer representatives to resolve aircraft and mission-system discrepancies.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test, calibrate, remove, install, and configure aircraft avionics and mission-system equipment.

  • Diagnose aircraft and mission-system discrepancies using approved technical data, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, and test equipment.

  • Perform functional and operational checks of avionics, aircraft communications equipment, mission equipment, aircraft wiring, and associated electronic components.

  • Support maintenance of electro-optical/infrared mission payload equipment, including fault isolation, removal and installation, functional checks, and documentation.

  • Coordinate with aircrew and maintenance personnel to obtain discrepancy details and support corrective maintenance actions.

  • Document maintenance actions, inspections, discrepancies, and corrective actions in required maintenance records and databases.

  • Comply with applicable maintenance procedures, safety requirements, tool-control procedures, FOD prevention practices, and quality requirements.

  • Support aircraft launch, recovery, flight-line maintenance, and maintenance-recovery activities as required.

  • Assist with parts identification, requisitioning, turn-in, repairable-asset tracking, and tool and test-equipment accountability.

  • Train and mentor assigned personnel on maintenance procedures, use of technical data, troubleshooting, and safe work practices.

  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, and maintenance procedures.

  • Willingness and ability to work in the established OCONUS work/living environment, work shift schedules as assigned 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements.

  • Perform other duties in support of contract and mission requirements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree in Electronics Technology, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Avionics, or a related technical field with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

  • Minimum 4 years experience maintaining and troubleshooting aircraft avionics, aircraft mission systems, or comparable complex electronic equipment.

  • Minimum 4 years experience using avionics test equipment and applying structured troubleshooting methods to isolate and correct system faults.

  • Ability to complete/pass a required DCMA physical exam and CRC course prior to OCONUS deployment.

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Valid State Driver’s License.

  • Valid US Passport.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience supporting Skyraider II, Air Tractor 802U, or similar fixed-wing aircraft.

  • Experience supporting aircraft mission equipment, avionics, electro-optical/infrared systems, or aircraft communications equipment.

  • Formal avionics, electronics, communications, or aircraft-maintenance training.

  • Experience using maintenance databases and common avionics test equipment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

Work is performed at Hurlburt Field/Eglin AFB and may include CONUS and OCONUS deployments. The position may require work on the flight line and in inclement weather, high-noise areas, or areas with fumes, airborne particles, electrical hazards, and temperature extremes. Shift work, weekends, and extended hours may be required to support mission needs.
