The role is based at our International headquarters in Barcelona, Spain. The Senior International Counsel is a senior member of the International Legal team, reporting to the International General Counsel. The role provides strategic and commercially focused legal advice to the business across different international jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Spain. The Senior International Counsel supports the company's commercial, corporate and compliance legal needs, while partnering with business leaders to facilitate the company's international operations and growth. The Senior International Counsel partners closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to manage legal risk, negotiate commercial transactions, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and support the company's international growth initiatives. Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with customers, suppliers and strategic partners in both Spanish and English.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to the International headquarters in Barcelona while supporting cross-border projects and international initiatives in other jurisdictions.
- Corporate governance (corporate books, board resolutions and filings)
- Work closely with other departments, such as finance, HR and operations, to provide legal support and guidance. Skill Requirements/Preferences
- 6–10 years of post-qualification legal experience, with substantial experience negotiating commercial contracts, advising on corporate governance, and supporting data protection matters in an international environment.
- Experience identifying, assessing and mitigating legal and regulatory risks while providing practical, commercially focused solutions.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships across Commercial, Privacy, Finance, HR, Technology, Operations and Medical teams.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
