Full job description

Kelly Services is seeking a Machine Operator – 2nd Shift to work at a premier manufacturing client in Newburyport, MA.

Pay Rate: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour (plus $1.75 shift differential)

Monday – Friday

2nd shift: 3pm – 11pm; must be willing to work overtime, 1 to 2 weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at least 1-2 times a month.

Job Duties:

  • Operating and maintaining coating machines, ensuring optimal performance and quality

  • Reading schedules to determine solutions and changeovers, and performing machine setups as needed

  • Observing machines during operation to detect defects, making necessary adjustments, and performing quality checks

  • Handling material movement (loading, unloading, packing, and transporting) using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts

  • Cleaning machines and equipment between runs, with occasional confined space entry

  • Recording production run quantities, following SOPs, and conducting QA testing using computer equipment

  • Assisting other operators, cross-training on equipment, and supporting other departments as needed

Requirements:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED (required)

  • Bring manufacturing experience and/or mechanical aptitude (preferred)

  • Possess intermediate computer skills and strong attention to detail

  • Can comply with a 100% non-smoking campus policy and complete a respiratory clearance exam (as needed)

  • Are available for 2nd shift and overtime/weekend work as required
