REMOTE Azure Data Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of a cloud-native Enterprise Data Platform for a large-scale digital transformation initiative. This role will drive the end-to-end architecture, consolidating data from 80+ sources into a unified, scalable analytics foundation on Azure.

Key Responsibilities

Own and design the end-to-end Azure data architecture, leveraging services such as ADLS Gen2, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory

Define and implement enterprise data models and medallion architecture (raw, curated, consumption layers)

Lead data ingestion strategies across diverse sources (SaaS platforms, APIs, structured and semi-structured data)

Establish data governance, security, and access controls, including RBAC and metadata management frameworks

Design the semantic and analytics layer to enable reporting and insights via Power BI and web-based interfaces

Facilitate stakeholder alignment across business and technical teams, translating requirements into scalable solutions

Produce architecture documentation and ensure knowledge transfer for long-term client ownership

Skills and Requirements

8+ years of experience in data architecture, including 3+ years on Azure data platforms

Strong hands-on expertise in Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, and related services

Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data models and data integration frameworks

Solid understanding of data governance, security, and analytics layer design

Strong client-facing skills with the ability to lead workshops and drive architectural decisions Experience with media, digital, or audience analytics platforms

Exposure to Power BI, Salesforce, or third-party data integrations

Azure certifications (Solutions Architect / Data Engineer)
