Full job description

Driven to be the Best

People. Performance. Purpose.

At Avis Budget Group, we’re driven to be the best vehicle rental company in the world, together. Our 25,000 employees raise the bar every day, bringing different perspectives, taking ownership, and leading with integrity. We’re defining the future of mobility with safe, sustainable solutions that move people, businesses, and communities forward.

The Director, Product Management – Innovation leads the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of new digital products and capabilities that advance ABG’s mobility platform across the Avis, Budget, and Zipcar brands. This role owns end-to-end product management for high-impact innovation initiatives — from early concept and business case through launch and scale — spanning areas such as the reservation experience, and Online Check-In capabilities, Ready-Line and counter operations technology, and emerging mobility services. The Director partners closely with Technology, Operations, Marketing, and station leadership across NAM, EMEA, and APAC to translate customer and business needs into products that improve Utilization, Revenue, and NPS, while building and mentoring a team of product managers.

What You'll Do:

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for assigned innovation product lines, aligned to ABG’s enterprise growth and customer experience priorities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, designers, and analysts through discovery, prioritization, and delivery using agile methods.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging mobility, travel-tech, and rental-industry trends; build business cases and pilot new concepts to keep ABG’s brands ahead of the competition.
  • Partner with Technology leadership on the roadmap for core systems to ensure new features are scalable, secure, and station-ready.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and brand teams to ensure products reflect the distinct positioning and voice of Avis, Budget, and Zipcar.
  • Work with Revenue Management, Fleet, and Station Operations to size opportunities and translate them into measurable improvements in Utilization, RPD/RPU, and NPS.
  • Establish product requirements, success metrics, and go-to-market plans; present roadmap and results to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Manage the product P&L view for owned initiatives, including budget input, prioritization trade-offs, and post-launch performance tracking.
  • Ensure all products and data practices comply with ABG’s security, privacy, and data classification standards.
  • Hire, coach, and develop a team of product managers; foster a culture of customer-led innovation and ownership.

Perks You’ll Get:

  • Access to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insurance
  • Eligible to elect other voluntary benefits including: Group Auto Insurance, Group Home Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Identity Theft Protection, FSA, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and additional life insurance coverages
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributions
  • Full training to learn the business and enhance professional skills
  • Employee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget cars
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program for services including counseling, financial and legal consultation, referrals for care service and more

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years leading product managers or a product team.
  • Proven track record launching digital products at scale, ideally within travel, mobility, e-commerce, or another high-transaction-volume consumer industry.
  • Experience with payment systems a plus
  • Experience partnering with global or multi-region stakeholders (NA, EMEA, APAC); franchise/licensee model experience a plus.
  • Strong command of agile product delivery, road-mapping, and prioritization frameworks.
  • Analytical rigor with the ability to build business cases and translate data into decisions; comfort with revenue and operational metrics such as Utilization and RPD/RPU.
  • Excellent executive communication and influencing skills; ability to present confidently to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and drive innovation in a large, matrixed organization.

The annual starting salary for this position is between $160,000 – $235,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
