General Summary:
Lead and support cross-functional initiatives that combine structured project management and process improvement to drive measurable business outcomes. Manage projects through defined lifecycles from problem identification through execution and implementation, while ensuring alignment to organizational priorities. Partner with Merchandising, Store Operations, IT, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to improve processes and deliver sustainable solutions. Communicate regularly with key stakeholders on project updates, risks, next steps and results.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead and support key cross functional and strategic projects using structured project management methodologies that deliver significant value to Dollar General. Define project scope, timelines, milestones, resources, and success metrics. Ensure alignment with business priorities and track progress against established plans.

Apply formal project management practices, including project planning, status reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Maintain clear documentation and ensure consistent execution standards across projects.

Rigorously support the identification, evaluation, implementation and execution of processes that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Dollar General. Support strategic planning, process review and improvement projects to enhance corporate performance.

Analyze processes and performance through data collection, time studies, and productivity assessments. Identify root causes, evaluate improvement opportunities, and recommend actionable solutions to optimize performance.

Partner with Supply Chain, Store Operations, Merchandising and other department leadership in the development and deployment of process improvement initiatives. Work with IT, Finance, and other support functions to remove constraints, justify investments and implement solutions that improve service and reduce expense.

Ability to quickly identify potential drivers of emerging problems, root cause, and generate solutions.

Ability to partner, coordinate and influence across all levels of management.

Ability to prioritize projects based on solution impact, time to implement and/or direction from leadership.

Ability to lead multiple priorities and projects (3-5).

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization.

Design and execute appropriate analyses to size potential impact of problems or solutions.

Strong analytical and process mapping skills.

Knowledge of project management methodologies.

Ability to create and execute an implementation plan for rollout.
Qualifications
Work Experience &/or Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering required, or equivalent professional experience.

Advanced Degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
-
Project Management (PMP Certification), Industrial engineering, Six Sigma, and/or Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
