BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our ER Team in Monterey, CA!

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Pay: $25.63 - $49.19 / hr.

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

  • Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential

  • Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential

  • Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $5.50 Shift Differential

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills that you have worked so hard to gain. We will also give you the chance to expand and grow your skills, all while working alongside some of the most talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

  • Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.

  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperatureheart rate, respiratoryrateand blood pressure.

  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, bloodpressureand oxygen saturation.

  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

  • Identifypatients at riskforarrest andinitiateCPR.

  • Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications viaappropriate routesand duration.

  • Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

  • Place andmaintainfeeding tubes and central line catheters.

  • Havea passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
