Energy Assistance Program (EAP) Specialists process client applications; provide in-person client assistance, as well as community outreach; and are responsible for completing data entry in a fast-paced environment. EAP Specialists are responsible for following Energy Assistance Program guidelines, rules, and regulations. This position requires professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to work with a diverse population, along with a driving desire to make a difference in the lives of low-income families and individuals throughout Crow Wing County.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not all inclusive):
These examples do not include all possible tasks in this work and do not limit the assignment of related tasks.
Assess client needs and gather information needed to determine program eligibility
Retrieve online applications submitted in eHEAT system
Scan applications received at site locations.
Complete accurate data entry-including inputting household information and application data (text-based and numerical) from documents into eHEAT system.
Respond to heating emergencies within Department of Commerce timelines
Coordinate with energy vendors, place emergency guarantees and complete follow up activity
Answer client requests and questions via phone, email, and in person
Be knowledgeable of community resources; collaborate with staff and external sources of services
Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and community outreach events as requested
Other duties as assigned

Education
High School (required)
Experience
2 years: * Two years' experience in customer service or a fast-paced office

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe

Experience scanning documents or ability to quickly learn new software

Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
