A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Component Engineer, you will develop manufacturing processes based on customer blueprints and specifications to align with the company’s strategic goals while integrating the needs of marketing, sales, and manufacturing departments. You will troubleshoot process issues and provide technical support to ensure the on-time production of investment castings that meet the highest quality standards. Your role will be crucial in optimizing production efficiency and maintaining cost-effectiveness throughout the manufacturing process.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Interface with customer representatives to develop new products and support general customer program requirements, identifying needs and goals from function to aesthetics.

  • Lead development projects, ensuring timely delivery while reviewing customer specifications and blueprints to determine necessary procedures, testing, and routing sequences to meet dimensional requirements.

  • Utilize process knowledge, basic engineering principles, and creativity to develop processes that produce quality castings conforming to customer specifications and timelines.

  • Develop new technology to support plant initiatives and review all layouts, tool reworks, and tool construction to ensure consistency and repeatability of process results.

  • Create clear work instructions for the investment casting process and collaborate with manufacturing to implement improvements, while standardizing engineering specifications, work instructions, training documents, and general operating procedures.

  • Use data and statistics to adjust dimensions in the investment casting process, investigate dimensional issues, and implement necessary adjustments, creating in-process verifications as needed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience in aerospace investment casting, cored IGT products, structural parts, and airfoils.

  • Proven track record of part development and successfully delivering projects on time.

  • Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Unigraphics, to support design and development processes.

  • Ability to apply engineering principles and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interface with customers and cross-functional teams.

  • This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
