Full job description

The Laboratory Analyst performs analytical testing of water samples in compliance with OEPA and EPA regulatory standards. This role serves as the primary analyst for EPA 525.2, provides backup support for other analysis. 

  • Perform EPA 525.2 analyses for water samples following all SOPs, QA/QC, and laboratory safety standards.

  • Prepare and document reagents, calibration standards, and quality control samples.

  • Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation related to primary methods.

  • Review and validate analytical results; report deviations or issues as needed.

  • Maintain method documentation, including Initial and Ongoing Demonstration of Capability (IDOC/ODOC) for assigned methods.

  • Participate in proficiency testing (PT), audits, and corrective actions as assigned.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all laboratory safety protocols. Basic Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field OR equivalent laboratory experience. 

  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English. Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with EPA 525.2 preferred but not required; training provided

  • Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation

  • Excellent documentation and recordkeeping skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 

  • Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 A.M.- 5:00 PM, with additional time as needed. 

  • Position is located at our Marion, Ohio location.
