Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking qualified and dedicated Special Education Teachers (LBS1) for the 2026-2027 school year in East Moline, Illinois. Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher works under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator to provide instructional services and support to students receiving special education services. This role involves implementing individualized educational programs, providing specialized instruction, collaborating with educational teams, and supporting students' academic and behavioral growth in a self-contained classroom setting.

The district is seeking professionals who are knowledgeable, collaborative, caring, supportive, and strong communicators with a solid understanding of special education programming.

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Contract Length: 39 Weeks

Hours: 35 Hours per Week

Classroom Setting: Self-Contained

Behavioral Support Level: Medium

Medical Support Level: Level 1

Compensation

Pay Rate: $50.00 per Hour

Estimated Weekly Gross: $1,750

Overtime: 1.5x Rate

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEP goals

  • Develop and implement accommodations and modifications

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and families

  • Maintain compliance with special education regulations and documentation requirements

  • Participate in IEP meetings and progress monitoring

  • Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development

  • Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Maintain accurate records and student reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Valid Illinois teaching license required

  • Special Education certification preferred

  • Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement preferred

  • Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred

  • Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching Certification preferred

  • Current CPR certification if applicable

  • Current health documentation as required by state or district regulations

  • Must comply with all professional standards of practice

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
