Role Summary

The Network Systems Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting advanced network and systems infrastructure for a diverse client base across Ventura and Santa Barbara, California. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking to deliver secure, scalable solutions while ensuring system performance and reliability. The role offers a mix of remote flexibility and on-site collaboration based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end infrastructure solutions spanning on-premise environments and cloud platforms

• Troubleshoot complex network and system issues to ensure optimal uptime and performance

• Configure and maintain network security measures to safeguard systems and data

• Administer and support virtualization, networking, and cloud-based environments

• Document technical processes, configurations, and user guides for ongoing operational clarity

• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver tailored technical solutions

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior-level engineers and team members

• Manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

• $110,000 – $125,000

• 401(k) with employer match (up to 6% at 50%)

Additional Details

• Hybrid work model with flexibility to work remotely when not required on-site

• On-site presence required for client engagements and project-specific needs

• 2 open roles: one based in Santa Barbara and the other based in Ventura

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Network and/or Systems Engineer

• Strong expertise in infrastructure technologies, including networking, virtualization, security, and cloud services

• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver effective solutions

• Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

• Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, or similar)

• Experience working in a consulting or client-facing environment

• Exposure to a broad range of IT environments and architectures
