Occupational Therapist (School-Based)

Ages Served: K-12 Students

Setting: School-Based

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for performing student evaluations, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, providing direct occupational therapy services, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with each student's plan of care and educational goals.

The OT collaborates with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support students in achieving functional, developmental, and academic success within the school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team conferences

  • Collaborate with school staff and families to support student progress

  • Monitor and report student outcomes and goal attainment

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, district, and professional standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice

  • One (1) year of professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR certification, if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable

  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulations)

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
