POSITION TITLE: Truck Mechanic – Electrical Systems
POSITION LOCATION: 110 Olympic Dr, Nicholasville, KY, 40356
SALARY: $58,490 per year

JOB DESCRIPTION Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems in commercial trucks and trailers. Inspect and troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems including wiring, batteries, starters, alternators, sensors, lighting systems, and electronic control modules to ensure proper vehicle operation. Perform diagnostic testing using computerized diagnostic equipment and electronic testing devices to identify electrical malfunctions and determine appropriate repair procedures. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring harnesses and electrical components in heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Troubleshoot electrical issues related to ignition systems, charging systems, vehicle lighting systems, and other electrical circuits. Replace or repair defective electrical components and ensure proper functioning of electrical and electronic vehicle systems. Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections of electrical systems to improve vehicle reliability and operational safety. Maintain detailed service records documenting diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance performed. Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Assist with inspection and repair of related mechanical components when performing electrical diagnostics on trucks and trailers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years of experience as a Truck Mechanic, Automotive Electrician, Electrical Technician, or related, performing electrical diagnostics and repairs of trucks or mechanical equipment systems.
Experience must include two (2) years in each:

Working with electrical systems, including wiring, circuit components, sensors, and control modules.

Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring systems and electrical components.

Diagnosing electrical faults using electronic testing equipment such as multimeters and other diagnostic tools.

Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and determining appropriate repair solutions in electrical systems used in mechanical equipment or trucks.
