Pay Rate: $38/hour with $178 per diem
Must have: Secret Clearance
Contract length: 5 months
Perks: Flights to and from are covered, rental car is covered with 18-20 hours of overtime a week.
Job Description
This role supports electroplating and metal finishing operations at a refit facility located on Naval Base Kitsap in Bangor, Washington. You will perform industrial tank plating, portable selective plating, and chemical cleaning processes on a variety of metallic surfaces, helping restore and maintain shipboard components to precise specifications.
Responsibilities

Conduct functional and industrial tank plating operations on various metal surfaces in accordance with established procedures and specifications.

Perform portable selective plating to restore shipboard components to required dimensional and performance standards.

Carry out chemical cleaning processes on metallic surfaces to prepare parts for plating and finishing.

Execute dimensional restoration tasks using polishing and related metal-finishing techniques to meet blueprint requirements.

Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate plating and finishing outcomes.

Use micrometers and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances after plating and finishing operations.

Troubleshoot plating and metal-finishing issues and adjust processes or techniques to achieve desired results.

Support shipyard and marine repair activities by performing plating and restoration work on components used in ship systems.
Essential Skills

Hands-on experience with electroplating processes, including functional and industrial tank plating.

Ability to perform portable selective plating on shipboard components to restore them to required specifications.

Knowledge of chemical cleaning methods for metallic surfaces used in preparation for plating and finishing.

Proficiency in polishing and related metal-finishing techniques for dimensional restoration.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.

Skill in using micrometers and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.

Pay and Benefits
