Full job description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician | 2nd and 3rd shift openings!
Responsibilities
-
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
-
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, and belt replacements.
-
Support the setup and teardown of production equipment during line changes.
-
Document maintenance activities and equipment issues in tracking systems.
-
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area and follow 5S standards.
-
Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE.
-
Assist with facility-related repairs like lighting and minor plumbing.
-
Participate in maintenance training and skill development programs.
-
Support emergency maintenance needs as required.
Essential Skills
-
5+ years of experience in maintenance repair
-
Knowledge of shafts, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
-
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
-
Experience with 3-phase motors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and climb for extended periods.
-
Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
-
Willingness to learn and grow within the maintenance team.
Work Environment
The work environment is clean and can be loud at times, with consistent and nonstop work expected. Shifts include 2nd Shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and 3rd Shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Employees may be required to work on weekends as needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blacksburg, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.28 - $27.28/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
