Summary:

CED, founded in 1957 and one of the largest electrical wholesalers in the U.S., is looking for warehouse team members to support its top-ranked and rapidly growing location.

This is an entry-level position with upward mobility potential in a casual, fast-paced, blue-collar industry. A degree is not required and this position will evolve and grow as your enthusiasm and potential determine. We are looking for a reliable applicant who is willing to pitch in wherever needed, can perform all duties with little supervision, and is seeking an opportunity to get a foot in the door at an established company.

The position is for a full-time employee, but the schedule is flexible (as long as the hours are consistent). The hours will likely include overtime potential with shifts extending into the evening to prepare for customer deliveries the following day. Compensation for full-time employees includes base pay plus profit sharing (paid in March based on the prior year’s profit, but not guaranteed), health, vision, and dental care, 401(k), HSA, and holiday and sick pay.

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds

  • Able to bend, twist, kneel and squat

  • Able to work on a concrete floor for an entire shift

  • Able to communicate effectively in English (fluent in Spanish is a plus)

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Willingness to learn all aspects of warehouse work, including cutting wire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sit down forklift trained (if not we will train and certify)

  • Have unrestricted license to be able to make deliveries in company vehicle

Working Conditions:

  • Work in warehouse where seasons influence ambient temperature (hot in summer, cold in winter).

  • CED has a Heat Illness Prevention Program that educates on how to navigate temperatures along with protocols in place to minimize weather extremes.

Essential Job Functions:

This position will offer a variety of tasks, and each shift will bring a new list of urgent items that need to be addressed. We need people who are adaptable, organized, and able to anticipate what needs to be prioritized without being micromanaged. A partial list of duties includes (but is not limited to):

  • Stock incoming material on shelves in a neat and organized manner and bring down overstock to empty shelves

  • Learn our internal system, get familiar with paperwork and accurately log information to be processed through accounting

  • Pick material for customer orders

  • Check accuracy of orders that have been pulled for customers

  • Participate in keeping warehouse and concession areas clean/stocked—sweep, pick up trash, empty trash cans, make coffee/popcorn, replenish supplies

  • Notify purchasing when we are out of product that needs to be reordered

  • Support counter staff in pulling orders/assisting customers as product knowledge and warehouse/customer familiarity increase

  • Help customers load orders

  • Unload trucks

  • Assist with returns
