Summary / Objective
The Crew Leader performs tasks involving physical labor at construction project sites and provides leadership and direction to a crew of 1–5 members. The position operates a variety of hand and power tools, digs trenches, installs silt fence, mows and trims, cleans streets and job sites, removes waste materials, and assists other workers. The Crew Leader leads by example, ensures high-quality standards, maintains strict safety practices, and interacts professionally with customers and the project team.
Essential Functions / Duties
-
Provide leadership and direction to a crew of 1–5 members.
-
Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects, including installing silt fence, mowing and trimming, shoveling, street cleaning, digging trenches, and cleaning up rubble and debris.

Effectively operate a variety of hand and power tools (picks, shovels, sledge hammers, etc.).

Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.

Hammer stakes, load and unload trucks, and haul and hoist materials.

Ensure that all projects meet the company’s high-quality standards.

Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed at all times; bring problems to the attention of the Owner.

Fill out paperwork daily and perform a routine vehicle pre-operational inspection.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises 1–5 Crew Members.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina and be able to meet the physical demands of the job: lifting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, etc., under adverse field conditions.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. This position sometimes requires long hours and weekend work.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Verifiable minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in a construction environment

Experience in managing a diverse workforce
