Full job description

Join our team as a Nuclear Materials Control & Accountability (NMC&A) Specialist and play a key role in supporting a mission-critical program. In this dynamic role, you’ll help maintain the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of NMC&A processes across the site. If you enjoy problem‑solving, collaborating with diverse teams, and contributing to essential nuclear materials safeguards, this position offers a meaningful and exciting opportunity.

What You Will Do

You will support key NMC&A activities by working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate use of measurement systems and provide technical assistance that strengthens regulatory compliance and overall program efficiency. In this role, you’ll help update the Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan (FNMCP) as processes evolve, deliver training on essential NMC&A topics, and prepare and review control charts to maintain reliable program performance. You’ll also oversee the testing and calibration of equipment used to measure nuclear materials, manage actions within a corrective action tracking system, and uphold all safety requirements while performing your work. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support the success of the NMC&A program.

We’d Love to Hear from Candidates With

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent education and experience

  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe) for generating reports, charts, and presentations

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance

A Successful Candidate Will Also Have

  • A current “Q” or “L” clearance

  • Experience working in an NMC&A program

  • Experience at NRC or DOE regulated sites

  • Familiarity with NDA techniques and mass measurement systems

  • Background in Nuclear Material Safeguards

Pay

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $62,248-107,080. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
