About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W49BAA US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1. Interpreting laws, executive orders, and policies related to special operations. 2. Providing technical guidance and managing cyber programs. AND 3. Conduct briefings and debriefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. Provide oversight, advice, assistance, and direct support to the USASOC staff and subordinate, supported, and supporting organizations, concerning specialized or experimental cyber, special operations, and intelligence policies and procedures. Principal assistant to the Director, Sensitive Activities Division and the Deputy Commanding General for designated Sensitive Activities, specialized intelligence, special operations, and cyber programs and their related processes and functions. Conduct analysis of increasingly complex and interconnected systems involving intelligence, special operations, and cyber, then develops tailored solutions to those challenges for USASOC subordinate, supported, and supporting organizations. Function as the resident expert for USASOC, USSOCOM, DA, and DOD for unique applications of designated specialized intelligence, special operations, and cyber programs. Serve as an Intelligence Specialist with primary responsibility for the development, execution, and oversight of a highly complex and specialized program providing support for intelligence programs. Provide technical guidance and expertise to higher headquarters’, subordinate, supported, and supporting organizations. Security clearance required: Sensitive Compartmented Information
