RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY:

  • Prepares and performs a variety of CT and radiologic procedures.

  • Provides patient care during procedures.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Finger dexterity. Seeing. Hearing. Speaking.

Repetitive arm/hand motions - (Constant).

B. MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

  • Infrequent: N/A

  • Occasional: N/A

  • Frequent: Lift waist to shoulder between 36-50 lbs. Carry between 36-50 lbs. Push and Pull between 36-50 lbs.

  • Constant: N/A

C. NON-MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

  • Infrequent: N/A

  • Occasional: Sit. Kneel. Twist. Squat.

  • Frequent: Stand. Walk. Stoop/Bend. Twist. Gripping.

  • Constant: Reach: shoulder level. Reach: above head. Gripping.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

  • Exposed to communicable diseases, body fluids, mechanical/electrical units, chemicals, and radiation.

  • Work environment is fast paced and high stressed due to patient census.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION:

  • No diploma and/or degree requirement.

B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

Current Hawaii State license as Radiologic Technologist.

  • Current certification in Computed Tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.). If not certified upon hire, must obtain certification within one (1) year of entrance into the position.

  • In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively communicate with the Medical Staff.

  • Current BLS certification.

C. EXPERIENCE:

  • Must meet one (1) of the following:

o Two (2) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute care facility.

o One (1) year experience in Radiologic Special Procedures.

o Completion of a formal didactic CT training program.

  • Prior CT experience preferred.
