Laboratory Technician II

Our client is a key player in the food manufacturing industry and is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join their quality team! This role supports food safety, quality assurance, and operational initiatives by performing routine laboratory testing and analytical evaluations on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods

Located in Mt. Joy, PA

6 month contract to hire

Shift: 1st shift

Pay: $18-20/hour

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative laboratory inspections following established procedures.

  • Monitor laboratory instrumentation and perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.

  • Accurately document and communicate test results using laboratory databases and reporting systems.

  • Maintain laboratory records, customer specifications, and testing documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements through proper testing and documentation practices.

  • Support food safety and quality initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Assist with laboratory trials, experiments, and more complex testing activities under guidance.

  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and company policies.

  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and technical manuals.

  • Prepare routine reports and maintain accurate laboratory records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field preferred.

  • Previous laboratory, quality assurance, food manufacturing, or analytical testing experience is preferred.

  • Ability to accurately perform routine laboratory testing and maintain detailed documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
