Full job description
PMHP/Project Try Child Associate, (Teacher Aide – 10-month) works with students 1:1 in a play therapy format in order to support their educational experience. Elementary School - Work Hours range from 14-18 hours/week.

Assists with classroom activities and regular school routines as directed by the teacher.

Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.

Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

Corrects papers or workbooks and keeps records as assigned by the teacher.

Prepares bulletin boards and displays as requested by the teacher.

Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.

Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.

Participates in in-service training programs as assigned.

Supervises lunch or play periods as scheduled.

Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities, which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education
Job Qualifications

High School diploma, Associate degree, or additional training in area of services is preferred.

Sincere interest in working with children and their developmental needs.

Ability to work with and follow instructions of the teacher.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
