NUCLEAR MECHANICAL INSPECTOR (SHIPS) SUPERVISOR I

You will serve as a NUCLEAR MECHANICAL INSPECTOR (SHIPS) SUPERVISOR I in the Nuclear Inspection Division (Code 139 - Technical Receipt Inspection Branch) of PSNS and IMF. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. You will supervise FWS inspection programs with direct responsibility for inspectors of mechanical, piping and structural systems on nuclear reactor plant systems, and Technical Receipt Inspection of material to accomplish the inspection function. You will ensure the quality of work with respect to inspections and testing under assigned cognizance. You will be responsible for assuring the efficient and economical accomplishment of work assigned within the parameters established by the projects and the Nuclear Inspection Division management. You will ensure pre-use inspection and verification of markings for reactor plant materials are carried out, ensuring proper material control and marking is maintained on assigned work. You will coordinate priorities and deadlines with numerous project and production personnel to maximize efficient use of personnel while meeting the Shipyard’s needs.
