Job Description

A luxury homebuilder is seeking a Structural Drafter to support the design and construction of high-end residential homes. This role is responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining structural plans and construction documents in AutoCAD while collaborating with engineering and architectural teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and update structural drawings, including foundation plans, framing plans, bracing layouts, and structural details.

  • Interpret architectural plans, engineering markups, sketches, and redlines to produce construction-ready documents.

  • Revise plans and details based on project requirements and engineering feedback.

  • Assist with drafting and maintaining architectural details as needed.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and internal design teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Manage multiple drafting tasks, prioritize deadlines, and track progress through internal systems.

  • Maintain organized project files, revisions, and documentation.

  • Ensure drawings meet quality standards and project schedules.

Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of structural or architectural drafting experience

  • 1+ years of AutoCAD experience

  • Working knowledge of building construction methods and structural components.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. • Associate degree or equivalent vocational/technical certification

  • Residential wood construction knowledge

  • Architectural background
