This position serves as a Senior Digital Collections Specialist located in the Digital Collections Management and Services Division, Digital Services Directorate, Discovery and Preservation Services at the Library of Congress. As a Senior Digital Collections Specialist, you will: Coordinate, determine, and manage projects for digital collections. Serve as a technical expert in the planning, development, management, and execution of digital collections workflow/lifecycle management projects. Plan, test, and execute projects that involve acquiring, describing, storing, and providing access to digital content for which the section has custodial responsibility. Use knowledge of digital libraries and technical solutions, provide expert analysis and advice and develop solutions to address issues and problems associated with digital collections lifecycle management. Provide advice to staff in stakeholder and curatorial units and training to more junior members of the section. Perform other duties as assigned. The incumbent of this position will work a Flexitime work schedule. This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position. Relocation expenses will not be authorized for the person(s) selected under this vacancy announcement.
