Research and Design Technician

Immediate need for an R&D Tech I to construct, maintain, and test mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary. Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Supports the Engineering and Design Group

Job Title: R&D Tech I

Pay Rate : $17.00 – $20.00/hr

Location: Port Orange, FL

What’s the Job?

• Use specialized equipment such as tape measure, band saw, oxygen/acetylene cutting torches, hand grinders, drill press, shot blasters, steam cleaner etc.

• Perform basic metalworking duties such as measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling and deburring parts.

• Operate forklift to unload and handle raw materials.

• Maintain test standards and equipment in accordance with ISO procedures.

• Assemble components using basic hand tools.

• Read and follow blueprints and work instructions.

• Welding together parts from raw materials using blueprints

• Perform a wide range of shop duties to support the Engineering Group.

• Maintain work area and equipment.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Follow all safety regulations at all work areas and job sites.

Maintaining proper attendance.

Professional levels of quality and quantity of work.

Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshooting guides.

Ability to work productively in teams as well as individually.
