Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), you will serve as the central administrative and communication hub for the nursing station, ensuring efficient patient flow and supportive operations.
Every day you will perform clerical/reception duties, assists nursing staff in maintaining efficient and effective operations on the unit, manage supply/equipment requests, and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers. You'll maintain records, check charts, obtain documents, and process/transfer orders. You will also answer call lights and incoming calls, directing them appropriately, and may assist with medication retrieval/delivery.
To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and rapid multitasking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team, with a strong commitment to supporting patient care.

Serves as communications person, answering phone calls, taking and relaying messages

Receives and directs visitors and family members (must be an excellent customer service representative)

Monitors supplies throughout the departments

Assists with patient registrrations after normal business hours or when needed

Monitors the telemetry/cardiac monitor for arrhythmias and notify licensed nurse as indicated

Performs Electrocardiograms as ordered
Job Requirements
Required

Certified Nursing Assistant: MN
-
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
Preferred
- Two to three years of recent acute care work experience

Pay Range
$19.87 - $28.06 /hour
