As the Estimating Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s bidding strategy, overseeing estimating operations, and ensuring accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates for high-impact projects.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  • Directly lead the estimating department and provide leadership to staff. Mentor direct reports to facilitate positive change; recommends corrective action, including personnel change, if necessary.

  • Prepare clear and detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs.

  • Ensures proper document control and distribution for all bid documents and proposals; distributes bid documents to appropriate internal and external personnel.

  • Develop subcontract scope for projects and manage the subcontractor RFP process; qualify and level subcontractors’ proposals according to project specifics.

  • Interact with customers, engineers, and subcontractors to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, and costs.

  • Assist with turnover process by providing proper documentation related to project; provides on-going technical support during the project execution phase.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in engineering or construction management preferred.

  • 15+ years of directly related experience with at least 3 years in a leadership position.

  • Knowledge and understanding of various commercial terms and conditions.

  • Extensive experience in power delivery estimating, with industry practices, legal standards, and market trends.

  • Able to communicate effectively.

  • Able to process high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
