Full job description

KPS Global (KPSG) is the North American industry leader in the manufacture, production, and installation of walk-in coolers and freezers. KPSG’s end-product serves many channels within the retail food market as well as industrial and scientific applications. KPSG is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas with most support activities centralized in the Fort Worth facility. KPSG maintains product manufacturing in five locations: San Dimas, CA; Fort Worth, TX; Piney Flats, TN; Conyers, GA and Goodyear, AZ.

The System Administrator is responsible for the administration, security, and reliable operation of KPS Global's server, cloud, and identity infrastructure. This individual manages Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365 and Azure administration, and backup and recovery operations, ensuring systems adhere to organizational security standards and remain available to end users. This individual participates in the planning and execution of infrastructure and systems projects, supports incident response activities, and provides Tier III support for escalated technical issues.

Major Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and file/print services

  • Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Entra ID — user provisioning/deprovisioning, licensing, and security configuration

  • Administer Microsoft Azure resources, including virtual machine/server provisioning and management, storage, networking, access management, and ongoing monitoring of cloud infrastructure

  • Perform daily backup operations, verify successful completion, and execute restore operations as needed to support data recovery

  • Perform regular security monitoring across servers, endpoints, and cloud services to identify anomalies or possible intrusions.

  • Apply OS and application patches, security hardening, and endpoint protection configurations on a regular cadence, in line with KPS patch and vulnerability management standards

  • Create, modify, and deprovision user accounts and access per approved requests, in accordance with least-privilege and privileged access management (PAM) standards

  • Conduct periodic access reviews of privileged and standard accounts to confirm alignment with role-based access requirements

  • Monitor endpoint detection and response (EDR) and security alerting tools; triage and escalate findings per incident response procedures

  • Support security incident response activities, including containment actions, evidence preservation, and post-incident documentation

  • Maintain system, configuration, and disaster recovery documentation for infrastructure under administration

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated (Tier III) technical issues; coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders

  • Support project teams during planning and implementation phases of infrastructure and systems initiatives

  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning and resource optimization

  • No college degree required — hands-on, real-world systems administration experience is required

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in systems administration or a related role

  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure, including Azure server/VM deployment, configuration, and management, resource provisioning, Entra ID, and access/conditional access management

  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune)

  • Experience with backup and recovery platforms, including performing restore operations

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP)

  • Working knowledge of information security principles — patch and vulnerability management, endpoint protection, privileged access management (PAM), and security monitoringExperience with EDR/security alerting platforms and triaging or responding to security events

  • Familiarity with security incident response procedures, including containment, evidence handling, and documentation

  • Understanding of common security frameworks and control baselines (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls) as applied to server and cloud environments

  • Experience enforcing multi-factor authentication (MFA) and conditional access policies

  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, CompTIA Security+)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex systems issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to drive timely, correct resolutions

  • A commitment to safety and to conditions that may affect associate safety

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a standard office environment, with occasional presence in server/data center spaces

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and operate a computer keyboard and monitor

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and move IT equipment weighing up to 40 lbs

  • Must be able to stand, bend, and reach when installing, servicing, or racking equipment

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel required (approximately 5–10%), primarily for subsidiary site support
