Job Description

DUTIES: Promote accessibility within the organization, advocate for considering accessibility as a vital part of the customer experience. Conduct wireframe and design review, provide feedback and suggestions for address accessibility related concerns. Handle updates to company standards through research, collaboration, and knowledge of current trends. Stay ahead of emerging standards and technologies and analyze impacts to company standards. Challenge existing accessibility practices, look for ways to simplify and/or automate processes, and recommend best practices. Educate clients on accessibility best practices, and how to comply with WCAG 2.x requirements. Gather information from clients, to help create and deliver accessibility training for developers, designers, content creators, and management. Provide solutions to maintain compliance while creating accessible digital products for excellent customer experience. Build relationships among stakeholders to foster support for digital accessibility, communicate changes to policies and procedures, and drive maturity of accessibility programs. Update and handle accessibility documentation to provide guidance and education for a broad audience. Contribute to accessibility testing standards that scale across a large organization. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree or equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Engineering (any), or related: and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation. Must include 3 years of experience in each of the following: Utilizing modern engineering practices including CI/CD, build tools, version control, and test driven development to support accessible and compliant delivery; Providing accessibility expertise across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring alignment with WCAG 2.1/2.2 and PDF/UA standards; Designing and implementing accessibility solutions and automated testing frameworks using axe core, Pa11y, and Lighthouse, and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines; and, Developing, reviewing, and validating accessible components and applications for web and mobile platforms, ensuring semantic structure, correct ARIA usage, and robust keyboard and focus management.
