Full job description
Title: Engineering Designer I
Engineering Designer I can start from a conceptual sketch or idea and is able to completely draw/model the part or assembly using existing components, modifications to existing components or new parts that meet the requirements of the Hilliard Engineering Drafting Manual and Department Manual.

Plans and prepares drawing and details for customer orders and new products with supervisory assistance.

Works closely with all Engineers and Product Managers to ensure that the drawings completely describe the part.

Checks detail and sub-assembly drawings.

Selects standard hardware, electrical, piping, springs, and bearings for standard product lines.

Computes angles, weights, surface areas, clearances, tolerances, hole locations, etc.

Enters Bills of Material (BOM) as directed by supervisor.
Requirements:

Associate degree in design or equivalent experience.

Accept direction and projects from Engineers and Designers.

Maintain cooperative and open communication with all personnel and departments.

CAD database management, Auto Cad, Inventor, Creo and MS Office a plus.

Be able to perform duties as assigned in an ever-changing fast paced environment.

Perform other duties as may be assigned by Product Engineers, Designers, Product Engineering Managers, and supervisors.
