Job Duties

The City of Saint Paul Department of Planning and Economic Development is hiring a Resilience and Housing Program Specialist to advance healthy, sustainable, and energy-efficient housing initiatives. This position coordinates key programs, tracks performance, supports policy implementation, and engages community and organizational partners.

Here is what you can expect to do:

Support the Healthy Homes and Power of Home grant programs by conducting outreach, assisting applicants and participants, tracking program metrics, and monitoring program budgets.

Coordinate program operations by preparing agendas, facilitating biweekly internal meetings, and maintaining consistent communication across departments and partners.

Serve as a primary liaison to partner organizations, supporting program development and implementation through regular communication, meetings, and collaboration.

Conduct research and policy analysis, document policy alternatives, and prepare reports and other materials.

Support implementation of the Sustainable Building Ordinance by attending kickoff meetings with developers, tracking project compliance, and communicating with developers.

Build community partnerships and coordinate engagement events and activities designed to reach diverse audiences.

Minimum Education Required

Position Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Energy and Sustainability Policy, Sustainable Management, and Environmental Science, Public Administration, Education, Urban Planning, Information Systems, Management, Business Management, or a closely related field and two years of related project and management support including; conducting research, collecting, compiling, and assessing data or equivalent experience.
