Summary

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position will NOT be made permanent.

Duties

  • Advise leadership on all matters relating to resource management and planning issues.
  • Administer the agency's Management Control Program.
  • Plan, schedule, and carry out major projects concerned with the analysis and management of financial programs for organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure internal accounting and administrative controls have been established to provide reasonable assurance.
  • Supervise employees to include the planning and scheduling of work to be accomplished by subordinates.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes documenting distribution of all funds, maintain audit trails, monitor and control of the fiscal resources of an Army organization; audit of appropriated funds and allocation of funds to activities; consolidating and compiling annual budget of direct and reimbursable funds involving separate appropriations; providing solutions to cost control problems to leadership; reviewing and analyzing budget requests for conformance with guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
