Job Summary

The Director of Campus Enrollment Marketing shapes and executes integrated, audience-centered marketing strategies that support campus enrollment at Old Dominion University. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Growth Marketing, the position guides efforts for undergraduate, graduate, transfer, international, military-affiliated and other priority populations.

The position oversees the campus enrollment marketing team and is responsible for campaign planning, content strategy, digital and traditional advertising, email marketing, enrollment-focused web content, social media, market research, performance analysis, budget management and vendor coordination. Working closely within the Division of Digital Transformation and Technology and throughout ODU , the director ensures that marketing efforts are aligned with institutional priorities, enrollment goals and university brand standards.

The director uses audience insights, enrollment data and campaign performance to guide decisions, strengthen recruitment outcomes and continuously improve communications journeys. The role also manages competing priorities, establishes clear workflows and accountability for the team, and serves as a strategic marketing partner to campus leaders.

Hiring Range: $90,000–$95,000, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, higher education or a related field; or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in the preceding fields.

  • Considerable knowledge of enrollment marketing, audience strategy and integrated campaign planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary marketing team, set priorities, coordinate work and hold team members accountable for results.

  • Demonstrated ability to use data, market insights and performance measures to guide strategy and decision-making.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Exceptional communication, collaboration and relationship-management skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, enrollment teams, academic units and other institutional partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction across digital, content, creative, web, email, paid media and other marketing functions without serving as the technical specialist in each area.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and monitor marketing budgets, evaluate competing investment priorities and oversee vendor expenditures.

  • Considerable professional marketing experience, preferably in higher education, enrollment marketing or a related field.

  • Considerable supervisory or team-leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, higher education or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with experience equivalent to a master’s degree.

This role is an on-campus, 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday position.
