Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill four (4) vacancies for the classification of Fire Services Assistant (Part-Time) in the Henderson Fire Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of routine tasks while assisting in the administration, training, or logistics areas of the Fire Department; and performs related duties as assigned.

Position Information:

  • This is a part-time position.

  • The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill both Non-PERS eligible (19 hours/week) and PERS eligible (29 hours/week) vacancies.

  • This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school, or the equivalent

  • Any training and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform satisfactorily on the job

  • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483

  • Desirable: Enrollment in an accredited fire science program or fire science related classes
