Full job description
Job Summary: Assists department leadership with evaluating, planning, and coordinating clinical nursing operations within all Imaging modalities, including the Imaging Nursing Unit. Serves as a subject matter expert for Imaging nursing practice standards; and assists with developing departmental processes and protocols that adhere to clinical and regulatory standards. Leads or facilitates process and performance improvement projects within Imaging, including the education and training of Imaging and INU teammates. Utilize problem solving skills to identify root cause and contributing factors, then implement timely interventions. Assists department leadership with project implementation and change management. Assists with coordination of patient throughput within the Imaging Nursing Unit and Imaging modalities. Performs medical chart reviews for quality improvement and patient scheduling as needed. Participates in organization-wide coordination of patient care and integration of departmental activities consistent with CaroMont's mission, vision, values, and goals.
Qualifications: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). Bachelor’s degree preferred. BLS required. ACLS as determined by department manager. Certification in Radiology Nursing (CRN) preferred. At least three years of nursing experience in a hospital setting and 1 year of experience in Imaging/Radiology Nursing required. Experience in critical care, periprocedural, or emergency nursing may be considered in lieu of Imaging/Radiology experience. Ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, physicians, other departments, and families/visitors.
