Position Summary

LCI is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Construction Inspector to provide critical field quality assurance, site inspections, and secure escort services for facility and infrastructure projects spanning a broad geographic sector. This position monitors sustainment, restoration, modernization, and new construction projects from initial field deployment through final operational closeout. The inspector verifies that physical workmanship, structural installations, and site safety procedures comply with engineering designs, organizational protocols, and federal compliance standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining project requirements and formulating baseline statements of work or structural program objectives.

  • Document precise construction processes, inspection logs, and administrative project files to ensure complete historical records.

  • Review and support the assembly of administrative package files required for formal project acquisitions.

  • Support formal project conferences, technical peer reviews, proposal evaluations, and engineering test plans.

  • Apply and track complex regulatory guidelines across changing federal, state, and institutional construction statutes.

  • Analyze historical program data gaps and provide strategic field insights for business process reviews.

  • Maintain fluent written and oral communication with architects, engineers, site personnel, and leadership.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; there is no university-level degree required for this position.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in construction management, specialized field inspections, or project oversight.

  • Specialized Credentials: Ability to pass an escort-security examination and maintain a site-specific Restricted Area Badge (RAB).

  • Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.

  • Citizenship: United States citizenship is strictly required.

  • Licensing: Valid state-issued driver’s license to travel independently across local construction and job sites.

Skill & Certification Requirements

  • Inspection Methodologies: Practical knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural methods, construction techniques, and standardized field inspection practices.

  • Technical Blueprint Analysis: Proficient in reading and interpreting structural blueprints, architectural plans, and engineering specifications against physical fieldwork.

  • Problem Solving: Skill in applying standardized analytical and evaluative methods to resolve difficult, recurring procedural or factual field issues.

Safety & Security Compliance: Full understanding of construction industry safety regulations, risk management protocols, and facility security oversight guidelines.

  • Software Tools: Proficiency in standard administrative productivity tools including word processing, spreadsheet tracking, and data repository systems.

  • Spatial Mapping Systems: Functional capability to interpret, reference, and navigate Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

  • Highly proficient in business software applications (i.e.: Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)

  • Position requires sitting, for long periods of time. (Sedentary Work)

  • Most duties require extended use of a keyboard and computer monitor

  • Extended Telephone Use

  • May require lifting of 20-50 lbs
