Full job description

Job Descriptions:

Columbus Quarry, LLC in Fortson, GA is hiring an experienced heavy equipment diesel mechanic to work on site at our plant located at 3001 Smith Road.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines and related systems in heavy duty equipment used in aggregate production which includes engine, hydraulics, electronics, and fuel systems.

  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, replace faulty parts, and ensure engines operate efficiently and meet safety standards.

  • Service, grease, lube all mobile equipment

  • Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment

  • Other duties as required

Required Experience:

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is required

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills. Troubleshooting of fuel systems, hydraulic and hydrostatic systems, circuit faults, etc.

  • Inspect diesel and related equipment for safety and compliance issues.

  • Attention to detail to accurately complete tasks, ensuring that no elements are overlooked

  • Ability to work with others or own your own with little supervision

  • Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment

  • Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions

  • Ability to work overtime as needed
