Pay Rate: $16.50 an hour

SUMMARY: To welcome and provide information to guests and team members. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in the department’s guest service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as an initial point of contact for arriving guests

  • Act as a source of information and provide security and/or medical resources

  • Maintain general security awareness of organizational assets, including personnel

  • Perform repetitive duties and react to incidents, as necessary

  • Detect safety and security problems and communicate with security officers

  • React to incidents and make appropriate notifications

  • Resolve conflict in a professional manner, as necessary

  • Contribute to written reports, as required

  • Exercise care when handling property assets to prevent loss or damage

  • May be required to testify and provide statements for use in judicial and administrative proceedings

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and Certification

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent educational experience

Preferred:

  • Previous community involvement or networking experience; or Previous experience with hotel, retail or restaurant “front of house” guest service; or Previous experience in public safety, security or military

Skills

Required:

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Accurate and detail-oriented

  • Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner

REQUIRED TRAINING (provided)

  • Treasure Island guest service training

  • TIPS training and certification

  • Basic CPR/First Aid training

  • Any position-related training as determined by department manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to sit, walk or stand and exert fast-paced mobility, when necessary

  • Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and stoop

  • Must be able to reach and twist routinely

  • Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely

  • Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25+ pounds occasionally

  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions

  • Must have good eye hand coordination

  • Must be able to operate foot pedals

  • Must be able to physically see and identify persons/property

  • Must be able to physically hear conversation in person and over radio equipment

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed property-wide (inside and outdoors) and may include flashing lights, frequent loud noises, cigarette smoke and extreme weather conditions

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (primarily daytime and evening hours), including weekends and holidays; and work may be performed on a full-time or part-time basis

  • Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals, and/or persons under the influence of alcohol or other mood altering substances

  • High volume direct public contact
