Job Description Summary:
The Specialist, F-1 Student Support and Special Program Admissions is responsible for evaluating all international transfer credit, coordinating the admission of F-1 students to the College, serving as the College’s Designated School Official ( DSO ), maintaining all appropriate Student and Exchange Visitor Information System ( SEVIS ) reporting and records, and understanding United States Customs and Immigration Services ( USCIS ) requirements as it relates to F-1 students. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating the admission process for nursing and allied health petitioners.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree or higher required.

Two years of higher education experience required, specifically in a college or university registrar’s office or in another higher education student services office.

Experience with SEVIS and supporting F-1 students preferred.

Spanish fluency preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.

As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.

A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
