PURPOSE:

Learn about and support the administration, implementation, analysis, and continuous improvement of Dairyland Power Cooperative’s Organizational Effectiveness programs. This year-round internship provides hands-on experience supporting programs, data analysis, corrective action, human performance, project coordination, and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Support the administration and continuous improvement of Organizational Effectiveness programs, including:
  • Corrective Action Program

  • Causal Analysis

  • Human Performance

  • Observation Program

  • Operating Experience

  • Corporate Safety Review Board

  1. Collect, validate, organize, and analyze program data using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.

  2. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, tracking tools, charts, templates, and other materials used to monitor program performance.

  3. Support the development and maintenance of program procedures, quick-reference guides, checklists, SharePoint content, and training or communication materials.

  4. Coordinate projects and program activities by tracking assignments, maintaining schedules, documenting decisions, following up on action items, and communicating with project stakeholders.

  5. Assist with change management activities associated with new or revised programs, processes, tools, and expectations.

  6. Complete administrative responsibilities necessary to support effective program management, including meeting coordination, document management, data entry, and records maintenance.

  7. Take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables with appropriate guidance from Organizational Effectiveness team members.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience using Excel functions, pivot tables, charts, data validation, and other data-analysis features

  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and summarize program data

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint or experience maintaining shared program content

  • Project coordination, project management, or change management coursework or experience

  • Ability to develop professional reports, presentations, procedures, training materials, and quick-reference guides

  • Ability to research industry practices and identify improvement opportunities

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new programs, systems, methods, and processes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting data, findings, and recommendations

Other Job Characteristics:

Work a minimum of 10 hours weekly during the academic year and work full-time during the summer (40 hours per week). Workdays are flexible to accommodate student schedules within normal business hours. This position is located in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
