Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - HC/NBIB Legacy Systems Support Division.

Duties

  • Upholds public trust by preventing waste, fraud, and abuse through meticulous tracking of government property and strict adherence to statutory acquisition and disposal regulations.
  • Conducts cyclic, sensitive item, and annual inventories to maintain 100% accountability. Oversees lateral transfers between units and ensures all property records reflect real-time location, condition, and custody status.
  • Manages the initial intake of newly procured or transferred assets, ensuring accurate physical inspection, reconciliation with shipping documentation, and prompt entry into the accountable property system of record (APSR).
  • Coordinates with Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) to ensure equipment is managed according to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements as well as military and civilian government employees.
  • Identifies equipment shortfalls and drafts detailed specifications or purchase requests to support mission requirements; ensures all procurement actions align with authorized unit allowances and fiscal constraints.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience tracking and managing government property from acquisition to disposal, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and contract requirements for IT hardware, software, and services. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
