Job Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and equipment between CiboVita facilities. This position supports warehouse operations by ensuring all transfers are completed in compliance with company policies, Warehouse Transfer SOPs, food safety standards, and applicable transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and equipment between Vreeland, Madison, Taft, and other designated company locations.

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and immediately report mechanical defects, damage, or safety concerns.

  • Inspect trailers or box trucks before loading to ensure they are clean, dry, odor-free, and suitable for transporting food products.

  • Verify Bills of Lading (BOLs), Transfer Orders, pallet counts, shipping documents, and product quantities before departure.

  • Obtain and verify the printed Transfer Order Sheet before leaving the facility.

  • Inspect each load before departure to ensure it is properly wrapped, secured, and safe for transportation.

  • Comply with all Warehouse Transfer SOPs, safety procedures, and operational instructions issued by the Company.

  • Ensure box truck doors remain closed while backing into the Receiving dock. After the vehicle is safely positioned, verify with Receiving personnel that the receiving dock door is fully open before opening the box truck doors. Do not open the box truck doors until Receiving personnel confirm it is safe to begin unloading.

  • Never move the vehicle while the trailer or box truck doors are open.

  • Complete all required barcode scanning and inventory transactions accurately.

  • Assist the Receiving Department with loading and unloading activities when operationally required.

  • If Receiving staffing is insufficient, safely unload temperature-sensitive products using a pallet jack to prevent product damage.

  • Maintain a valid Pallet Jack Certification before operating a pallet jack.

  • Do not transport products without proper identification labels. Report missing or damaged labels immediately to the Warehouse Supervisor.

  • Immediately report damaged products, trailers, equipment, dock doors, inventory discrepancies, or unsafe working conditions to the Warehouse Supervisor.

  • Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs, inspection reports, and vehicle maintenance records.

  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all company safety policies.

  • Maintain professional communication with Receiving, Shipping, Warehouse, Production, Planning, and Transportation teams.

  • Perform other transportation and warehouse-related duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Minimum two (2) years of commercial driving experience preferred.

  • Experience operating a Box Truck.

  • Valid Pallet Jack Certification.

  • Ability to safely load and unload products.

  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and other approved warehouse equipment.

  • Ability to use handheld barcode scanners and accurately complete inventory transactions.

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Transfer SOPs, Bills of Lading (BOLs), GMP, HACCP, OSHA, DOT, and Food Safety requirements.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse duties.
