Job Description

  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot cosmetic formulations across multiple categories (Personal care – hair, skin, body; Pet Care), translating customer needs and ingredient positioning

into technologically feasible and commercially relevant solutions.

  • Execute hands-on lab work (batching, prototyping, testing), evaluate stability (appearance, viscosity, odor, phase behavior), and ensure reproducibility through proper documentation and

process control.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of proprietary ingredient technologies to design differentiated formulations, support internal and external stakeholders with technical insights, and convert

ingredient functionality into market-relevant applications. The liaison between the development of proprietary ingredients from the headquarters in Brazil to the US market, specializing in

the knowledge of the studies and the usage of these ingredients.

  • Act as key technical interface with US customers and commercial team by participating in meetings (virtual and in-person), providing formulation strategies, troubleshooting, and technical

recommendations, while strengthening customer relationships and supporting business opportunities through direct engagement and travel when required.

  • Deliver technical presentations to clients, internal teams and industry events, effectively communicating formulation concepts and ingredient benefits to both technical and non-technical

audiences, and representing the company’s technical expertise in external forums and trade shows.

  • Independently manage and continuously improve US laboratory operations, including workflows, organization, efficiency, overseeing raw materials inventory, packaging, labeling systems,

and equipment maintenance/ calibration to ensure availability of resources and scalability of activities.

  • Manage and prioritize multiple technical requests (e.g. prototype development, technical inquiries, customer support, troubleshooting) by aligning with business impact, urgency, and

resource availability, estimating timelines, and negotiating priorities with stakeholders when needed.

  • Track and consolidate laboratory activities and outputs (e.g. request types, prototype volume, associated customers, estimated pipeline value) from multiple sources, generating reports

that connect technical work to business outcomes and support the development of measurable KPIs.

  • Collaborate closely with headquarters in Brazil and cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment, knowledge transfer, and effective adaptation of global developments to the US

market.

  • Provide technical training to commercial teams on formulation fundamentals, ingredient functionality, and application strategies, and support knowledge transfer by supervising and

training interns and junior collaborators, when applicable.

  • Strong problem solving skills in formulation troubleshooting

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven experience in hands-on formulation, testing and optimization.

  • Strong understanding of emulsions, stability, and ingredient functionality.

  • Experience in customer-facing technical support in B2B environment.

  • Experience delivering technical presentations (internal or external).

  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.

  • Advanced knowledge of proprietary cosmetic ingredients and their application in formulation development.

  • Ability to translate technical solutions into commercial value.

  • Fluency in Portugese (written and spoken) required to support effective communication with headquarters in Brazil, including technical discussions and knowledge transfer.
