Job Type: Full-Time On-Site
Salary: $105,000- $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
Experience: Minimum 5 years of energy management experience

Description/Job Summary
The REM candidate will provide engineering, technical knowledge, and analysis of energy management applications, databases, and systems, as well as high-level functional support for evaluation and implementation advice on energy information management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy resilience projects. The REM candidate will also be responsible for implementing sound, cost-effective energy, and water management practices to enhance energy security, independence, and sustainability as mandated by legislation and various Executive Orders. The candidates will support the development of energy conservation, renewable energy, and facility improvement initiatives and projects.
Position Responsibilities

Conduct energy audits and develop energy conservation measures.

Develop energy efficiency improvements for facilities
-
Analyze energy, water, and other utility data
-
Support the development of energy efficiency and energy resilience projects, including the integration of onsite renewable energy, energy storage, and microgrids
-
Support energy planning and energy project implementation.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
-
Experience in an Energy Management Program
-
Thorough understanding of load profile data presentation and manipulation
-
Providing technical resources and management of energy related services
-
Working knowledge of use of bin, heating degree-days and other simplified methods of energy calculations
-
Familiarity with relevant Executive Orders, ESPC, DSM, utility privatization and other legislation and regulations related to energy programs
-
Understanding of the ESPC program including M&V protocols
-
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
-
Understanding of mechanical and lighting systems
-
Experience with energy auditing, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations
-
Experience supporting the development and implementation of energy projects.

Knowledge of Department of Defense energy management requirements a plus.

Excellent oral/written communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
-
Critical thinking and decision-making skills coupled with strong analysis and problem-solving skills

Self-starter, driven and able to work with limited direction under targeted timelines

Collaborative personality enjoys and able to work effectively, independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Provide certification evidence of a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) registration within the first year of employment

Candidate must have 1 of the following:
-
A 4-year technical/ engineering degree or a PE with 5 years of experience in energy management
-
A science, business or related degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in energy management
-
A 2-year technical degree with a minimum of 10-years of experience in energy management
-
A non-degreed REM with a minimum of 12-years of experience in energy management
-
US Citizenship is required.

Ability to pass a government-administered background investigation in order to be granted a Common Access Card and access to government IT systems.
