SUMMARY OF JOB

The Meds to Beds (M2B) Technician/Technician is responsible for enrolling patients into the bedside medication delivery program and in addition, coordinate the filling, delivery, counseling, and billing of prescriptions to the patient's rooms prior to discharge. As a the Meds to Beds Technician will also assist with duties performed in EasyRx - outpatient pharmacy including but not limited to prescription processing, insurance processing, prior authorization, and/or other duties as required. Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of a final dosage form for administration to a patient and are directly supervised by a pharmacist. For providing customer service by answering phone requests and triaging calls to the appropriate person if they cannot answer the requested information and for applying departmental processes regarding inventory control.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate required; 2- 4 years of college degree preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as Pharmacy Technician in a health care pharmacy setting or retail pharmacy or equivalent preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Russian preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous sales experience and customer services orientation is highly desired

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary atmosphere, interacting with all hospital personnel, patients and their families.

  • Show flexibility in duties and scheduling.

  • Show punctuality and be self motivated.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize daily duties and utilize time wisely using problem solving and critical thinking skills

LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Technician ( CPhT ) preferred

  • Current CPR certification

  • Current and in good standing state drivers license
