Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator (Helper Operator) to support production operations in our Bensenville facility. This role is crucial for assisting with the operation of roll wrapping machines, a key step in the cable production process. The ideal candidate will possess prior manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and support roll wrapping machines, a major step in the production process.

  • Load large spools of cable onto machinery and ensure proper setup for production.

  • Monitor and adjust machines as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.

  • Follow daily production schedules and meet output goals.

  • Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications.

  • Assist with general production duties as required.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with machine operation and mechanically inclined tasks.

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

  • Previous production experience is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to follow instructions and production schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or industrial production experience preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

  • Comfortable working on feet for extended periods.

  • Ability to handle large spools and perform repetitive tasks.

Work Environment

The role requires working 2nd Shift, 3pm-11pm, Monday-Friday, or 3rd Shift, 11pm-7am, Monday-Friday. Our facility specializes in manufacturing and coating electrical wires and cables from start to finish, starting with wire on large spools and utilizing high-speed machines. The extrusion process coats wire with various materials, colors, and thicknesses to meet customer specifications, with the roll wrapping stage ensuring the finished product is properly packaged and prepared for shipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bensenville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
