Full job description

Under the direction of a supervisory officer in a State department, institution, or agency of moderate size and complex maintenance system, has charge of the operation, maintenance and adjustment of the mechanical installations and equipment, and the repair and maintenance of the buildings and grounds; does other related duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of experience in charge of the operation and maintenance of utilities and maintenance programs of an institution, college or similar multi-building complex, four (4) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

NOTE: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering may be substituted for two (2) years of non-supervisory experience.

NOTE: A valid Professional Engineer's license issued by the NJ State Board of Professional Engineer's and Land Surveyors may be substituted for two (2) years of the non-supervisory experience.

NOTE: Applicants may be required to possess an Operating Engineer's license of appropriate grade and type issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor.

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
